Jokioinen Museum Railway season 2010 ended on a traditional autumn ride on Saturday September 18. Day started early in the afternoon, when traffic started with a single steam train. The evening ended with two train traffic between Jokioinen and Humppila. At nightfall the train and station areas were lit by electric lights, candles and some oil lamps.
The weather of the day was variable. Despite the weather, the trains were full of passengers since early afternoon until late evening. The last evening trains arrived Minkiö at 22.30 times. The traditional autumn ride fireworks in the late evening had to be cancelled because the rainy and foggy weather.
The next day Museum Railway Association volunteers began to prepare raiway for the winter period. Steam locomotive boilers were cleaned, washed and drained of water, frost-sensitive equipment separated from locomotives and bare metal surfaces were protected against winter moisture by grease. Some of the passenger cars transported on Sunday to Humppila rolling stock garage. Also station areas were prepared for winter.
Although the traffic season is now over, the voluntary work of Museum Railway still continues. In autumn period, the volunteers work program includes track maintenance. During the coming winter season in the Minkiö warm workshop building is under construction, inter alia, Hyvinkää-Karkkila railway and Kuusankoski-Voikkaa railway passenger coaches, a steam locomotive HKR 5 and the diesel locomotive TU4.
