Jokioinen Museum Railway and Museum Railway Association celebrated their 40th anniversary at first Sunday of June. Major highlights were the release of museum railway anniversary book written by Markku Nummelin and the official opening of museum railway traffic season.
The traditional blue-white-striped band was cut by mrs. Sirkka-Liisa Anttila, the member of parliament and minister of agricultural affairs. Minister Anttila was advised by two chairmen of Museum Railway Association; Mikko Alameri, the first chairman of Association's history and current chairman Marko Laine.

During celebration were three steam trains at service. The celebration train from Jokioinen to Minkiö was same composition as in 1971 when museum trains started traffic between Forssa and Humppila. The train was hauled by steam locomotive number 5 from former Hyvinkää-Karkkila railway. The wagons were 3rd class coach number 4 and freight car G10 also from Hyvinkää-Karkkila railway, conductor wagon number 11 originally from Jokioinen railway and summer carriage made in museum railway early volunteers in body of freight car 283 of former Loviisa-Vesijärvi railway.
The anniversary book includes 192 full-colored pages and nearly two hundred images from first years of museum railway to today. The book is written in Finnish, but it includes also brief summary in English. The book is available in Minkiö station café and our webshop mKauppa.
