Steam locomotives of Jokioinen Museum Railway are coming back to life after winter hibernation. At Sunday May 13. former Jokioinen railway locomotive number 5 Orion was warmed up to its working pressure. Some maintenance and test runs were performed on Monday and the locomotive was found to be ready for summer traffic and the first charter train next weekend. Also steam engines HKR5 and LWR6 were prepared for official inspection of their steam boilers.

The steam locomotive boilers are pressure equipments officially supervised by authority. So steam locomotives of museum railway can be used and maintained only with officially qualified supervisors.

All five steam boilers were given new supervisors during May, when musem railway steam locomotive engineers PTJ Koskinen and Jarkko Lehtonen were officially qualified to receive the duty. Earlier spring both passed an offical engine supervisor exam required.
