This summer there is a photography exhibition of a photographer Mathias Luther at the Minkiö Station of Jokioinen Museum Railway. The exhibition is about people behind the musuem railway.

The photos are peeking in the lives of people behind the railway as people are wearing their normal clothes, not uniforms or overalls you usually see people wearing at the railway.
Trains, railways, traffic and all action around rolling stock is photographed a lot. This exhibition pays attention to something else. Photos are of people doing voulntary work at the railway -not all of them but about twenty people. Also a man working to maintain the track of railway is photographed.
Without them this preserved railway would not be a live and attarctive place to visit.
In fact, without them the railway would not exist.
Some of the still active memebres of the Museum Railway Association were already in the 1970s saving the railway of the dismantling and helped starting the regular museum train operations in 1978. Now the importance of the museum railway to the image, tourism and dignity of the region has been realized.
The exhibition "Railwaymen by Love" is made of about twenty black and white photographs. The exhibition is in an old VR box car (GB-car) at Minkiö station just next to the Minkiö Café.
The opening times of yhe exhibition are same as the opening times of the Narrow Gauge Museum and Café.

The first charter trains of thi spring ran in summer heat. On Tuesday 15.5. there were several charter trains running between Minkiö and Jokioinen for pre school and daycare groups. Because of very hot and dry conditions some precaution had to be taken to avoid grass fires.

Children were really happy to see real old steam locomotive and to travel onboard rocking old train. For the most probably the best part of the day was a visit to real locmotive cab. Even a very hot summer weather with temperatures reaching 30 C did not slow down the small ones.
Scheduled steam trains of Jokioinen Museum Railway will start running on Sunday 3.6. The café, hand trolly rental and the Narrow Gauge Museum have already opened on 14.5. They are all open during week from 11 am to 6 pm. You can also rent hand trollies in weekends if reserving in advance.

Timetables for year 2018 are now published. Timetables and events follow the pattern of previous years. The biggest change is that in August 2018 the trains will run on Saturdays instead of Sunday.

The main reason to change the operating day from Sunday to Saturday is the very early end of school summer vacation this year. Children will be back in the school after the first weekend of August. We were figuring it will be easier for people to visit the Jokioinen Museum Railway on Saturdays, when you have full day to enjoy without needing to hurry back to home.
The traditional events of the year are:
- Minkiö Veteran Car Day on the first Sunday of June 3.6.2018
- Minkiö Farmers' Market on the first Sunday of July 1.7.2018
- Minkiö Steam Festival on the last weekend of July 8.-29.7.2018
- Starlight Train & Children's Agricultural Show on the second Saturday of September 8.9.2018
- The Santa Claus Train on the first Saturday of December 1.12.2018

The artist of Christmas card is PTJ Koskinen, a steam locomotive engineer of Jokioinen Museum Railway. On the card Santa Claus is running his train pulled by the HKR5 steam locomotive "Sohvi". The locomotive will turn 100 years just after Christmas.
This autumn a long gone switch for the old Sand Spur was reinstalled in between Minkiö and Humppila stations and Santa seems to be unaware of that. He has managed to take his train to the Sand Spur instead of going straight to Humppila. Peter, his reindeer is playing very stubborn and blocking the mainline and elves have decided that it is time to have a break at the Sand Spur camp fire place.
Let's hope Santa gets the situation solved and is able to deliver all the presents as expected..
